The R49 series EMI suppression Film Capacitor is constructed of metallised polypropylene film. It is encapsulated with self-extinguishing resin in a box of material meeting the requirements of UL94V-0. It is suitable for use in electromagnetic interference EMI suppression in across-the-line applications requiring X1 safety classification. Intended for use in situations where capacitor failure would not result in exposure to electric shock. X1 classified capacitors are for use only in a permanently connected apparatus with a connection to mains which cannot be loosened without the use of a tool.
