The SMD2420 series are ideal for applications which require linear response or high speed switching. The SMD2440 phototransistor"s gain characteristics make it suitable for applications where a high responsivity is required. A glass lens minimises crosstalk and, for non critical applications, can eliminate the need for apertures. Suitable applications for the SMD and SME phototransistors include; optical encoders, computer peripherals, vending machines, smoke detectors and medical equipment.
