The from ROHM is an automotive grade SML-D15x series high brightness single rank chip . This chip LED is optimized for applications where multiple LED"s are configured side-by-side and consistent brightness is desired. There are three main advantages for using circuits with SML-D15 single rank LEDs. The first advantage is the elimination of variation in LED brightness between products. The second advantage is the reduced design work load. There is no need to evaluate multiple LED bins and ranks or change current setting resistors. Lastly, there is reduced part number inventory control.
