The is a 2m black Coiled Cord with 1MR resistor 10mm socket at one end and 4mm plug at other end. The wrist straps provide an effective means for maintaining personnel at ground potential or at the same potential as the items being handled. People who are at ground potential or a potential the same as the ESDS they are handling cannot discharge to the ESDS when it is handled or touched. The wrist strap usually has a current-limiting resistor, typically 1 x 10E6 ohm, moulded into the ground cord near the point where the cord attaches to the cuff. The resistor usually has a working voltage rating of 250V. The wrist strap ground cords should have a quick release connector to the cuff so personnel will not be tied to the workstation.
