The is a Beagle Bone Black BBB cape that provides a 7" primary display for user interaction and information display. This model features a capacitive touch screen controlled by a Focaltech capacitive touch controller which interfaces the display and the Beagle Bone Black via the I2C protocol. This offers a signifciant improvement over the analog interface of previous 4DCAPE models which were prone to external noise interference. The Beagle Bone Black connects directly to an adaptor CAPE, which then connects to the display module using a 30 way FFC ribbon cable, enabling multiple mounting options. Everything the LCD CAPE requires such as power and display signals are provided from the BBB directly, via the adapter and FFC ribbon cable. Mounting of the 4DCAPE is achieved via an adhesive backing on the cover lens bezel of the display module.
