IRDC3897 is an evaluation board which features the IR3897 synchronous buck regulator. It is a versatile regulator which offers programmability of switching frequency and current limit while operates in wide input and output voltage range. The on board PWM controller and MOSFETs make IR3897 a space efficient solution by providing accurate power delivery. This board has protection functions such as pre‐bias startup, thermally compensated current limit, over voltage protection and thermal shutdown to give required system level security in the event of fault conditions. An output over current protection function is implemented by sensing the voltage developed across the on-resistance of the synchronous rectifier MOSFET for optimum cost and performance and the current limit is thermally compensated.
