The is a 32-tap, non-volatile linear taper digital potentiometer in 6 pin TSOT-23 package. MAX5434 performs the function of a mechanical potentiometer but replaces the mechanics with a simple 2-wire serial interface. The fast-mode I²C-compatible serial interface allows communication at data rate up to 400kbps. This device is used in applications such as digitally controlled resistors, voltage-divider, LCD screen adjustments, low-drift and programmable-gain amplifier circuit configurations.
