Evaluation Module For Analog To Digital Converter
The is an evaluation module for DAC8581, a 16bit, high speed, low noise DAC operating from dual ±5V power supplies. The DAC8581 is monotonic, and has exceptionally low noise and exceptionally low glitch. The DAC8581 high performance, bipolar output buffer is capable of settling within 0.65µs for a 10V step. Small signal settling time is well under 0.3µs, supporting data update rates up to 3MSPS. A power on reset circuit sets the output at midscale voltage on power up. The EVM provides the serial interface header to easily attach to any host microprocessor or DSP base system. Installed precision reference voltages of 5VDC and 4.096VDC are jumper selectable using onboard jumper W4. REF3040 4.096VDC source is pin compatible with the REF31xx family allowing a wide variety of reference values.
It is important to operate this EVM within the input voltage range of ±4 V to ±6 V and the output voltage range of -13.5V to 13.5V. Exceeding the specified input range may cause damage to the EVM.
