The Piccolo F2805x High Voltage Motor Control Developer’s Kit provides a high voltage development platform for Piccolo MCU-based digital control of high voltage motors. The kit has a universal AC input 110-240 VAC and supports a rated output of 750W, regulated by closed loop control. All three common types of three phase motors can be spun: AC induction ACI, brushless DC BLDC, and permanent magnet synchronous motor PMSM. The Piccolo F2805x MCU controls sensored or sensorlessly each type of motor using closed loop control Trapezoidal, Variable Frequency, or Field Oriented Control.

The Piccolo F2805x MCU brings greater control and integration to motor designs. The motor control stage can be controlled from a single Piccolo F2805x MCU, utilizing the on-chip CLA co-processor for 2x performance in a single device. Further, with integrated programmable gain amplifiers and analog windowed comparators, the Piccolo F2805x MCU reduces BOM costs while providing enhanced fault management for motor applications. Software, support, example projects, libraries, and documentation for this kit are provided completely free through C2000’s controlSUITE™ software platform. The F2805x version of the High Voltage Motor Control Kit includes example projects for sensorless FOC control of PMSM and ACI motors. An additional 10+ HVKIT example projects are available for the Piccolo F2803x and Delfino F2833x version, including open loop, BLDC, and CLA co-processor options.
