The PD70200 device is part of ’s™ series of Power over Ethernet PoE Powered Devices chips PD. The PD70200 receives integrated power and analog data in a single 12-pin package. It is used in Powered Devices PD, thus enabling next generation network devices to share power and data over the same cable. The PD70200 is a Type 2 device compliant with the IEEE802.3at-2009 standard for both 2-pairs and 4-pairs applications, and can be used in both indoor and outdoor applications consuming up to 47.7W on a single IC.
The PD70200 requires an external DC/DC controller IC to convert PoE voltages into the voltages used in a PD. Microsemi recommends the following products:
a IPS18: PWM Controller w/pulse skipping, for low cost Flyback designs that do not require synchronous rectification, and consume up to 25.5W.
b LX7309: Synchronous PWM Controller w/pulse skipping, for high efficiency Flyback, Forward w/Active Clamp and Buck designs, which consume up to 47.7W.
